Netflix released a statement on April 23 that it has greenlit a new Korean drama series to be headed by Train to Busan director Yeon Sang-ho. This will be an adaptation of the famous Naver webtoon series and has a working title of Hellbound.

Hellbound is a story about the supernatural phenomena where people who face the messengers of hell appearing without notice are faced with sudden hell. There will be unprecedented miracles or curses, the emergence of emerging religions that interpret it as God’s intentions, and various thrilling stories of people living in a chaotic society.

The original webtoon Hellbound, which is highly praised by Naver, is a masterpiece of Choi Gyu-seok. Both Choi Gyu-seok and director Yeon Sang-ho will co-write, with the director expanding the worldview that was made in the webtoon.
