The group BLACKPINK’s How You Like That replaced K-Pop’s highest ranking in the Spotify Chart, the world’s largest music streaming service.

How You Like That is BLACKPINK’s first regular title to rank No. 2 on the Spotify Global Top 50 chart on the 28th. It is a performance that surpassed the 5th place in the previous record set by Kill This Love last year, and is a highest K-Pop ranking to date.

Looking at each country, the spot on the Spotify America’s Top 50 chart ranks eighth. It is the first time that BLACKPINK has ranked in the top 10 on this chart as their solo single besides the collaboration song Sour Candy with Lady Gaga.

Spotify, with more than 200 million subscribers, is the world’s largest music streaming service. Spotify is considered to be a streaming platform for music that has a direct impact on American billboards and British official charts.

Forbes, America’s leading economic magazine, noted this. Forbes said, “If BLACKPINK’s How You Like That continues to maintain this acceleration, it will be the single that has recorded the most streaming among Spotify’s K-pop groups or girl groups.”

Black Pink’s pre-release title How You Like That, released at 6 o’clock on the 26th, is on the fourth day, sweeping the top of major music charts at home and abroad. The music video for How You Like That also broke the world record by breaking YouTube 100 million views in about 32 hours.

The overseas reaction is also explosive. Immediately after its release on the 26th, it ranked first in 64 countries on the iTunes Song Chart worldwide. This is the highest record among K-pop girl groups of all time. In addition, Japan’s largest music site, Line Music, China’s largest music site, QQ Music, and the Chinese music platform Tencent’s real-time music chart, won the first place and showed unrivaled global ripple power.

BLACKPINK’s How You Like That is a hip-hop song that gives a strong impression of reversal to vocals and explosive drop parts that rise with the change of emotion. In the powerful beat that is added as the song progresses, it contains the message, “Let’s go forward without flying in any dark situation and fly high.”
